InkPane supports Kindle, Kobo, BOOX, reMarkable and Nook, but the exact model and software version matter. Check your device here.
For Kindle, yes, unless it is already jailbroken. InkPane asks for your model and firmware, chooses one compatible jailbreak route for you, and then gives you the steps in order.
Most devices take around 10–20 minutes. Some newer MTP Kindles can take 30+ minutes because the temporary update-protection step has to fill most of the device storage before the jailbreak.
On devices with low-power mode, InkPane lets the e-reader sleep between refreshes and wakes it only when the screen needs to update, so the battery impact is small. Devices using Compatibility Mode stay awake for scheduling and use more battery. Exact battery life varies by model, Wi-Fi and refresh frequency.
Yes. InkPane is for the time you are not reading. When you want to read, stop or dismiss InkPane and use the e-reader normally.
Free includes Weather Curve, Today, Headlines, Quote and Countdown on one device with refreshes every two hours. Pro adds the richer Weather Pane, the full Pane library, AI-created Panes, custom schedules and multiple devices, with monthly, annual and lifetime options.
No. InkPane does not remote-control the device. The e-reader client fetches the screen it needs to display, and any external data sources are the ones you choose to connect to your InkPane account.
